I promised a friend from work that I would practice with some life model studies. It was supposed to be at least 20 minutes a week. I spend much more than 20 minutes on this one though. I would love to finish this one in the future. But I seems to start a lot of things and not finish much these days! haha!
The reference is from the gorgeous model Lockstock:http://lockstock.deviantart.com/
This started as a doodle, an experimentation, but after all the time I have spent on it tonight, I’m not sure I can call it a doodle anymore. The experiment is definitely a success though! The lettering is still at the rough stage. I would like to polish it later if possible!
Dedicated to all of you ladies out there! :)
Doing weekly Drink and Draws (tea and drawing, the perfect mix!) to get back into drawing more for myself. I’d like to use this design to practice animation. Hopefully, more to come in the coming weeks!
Warmup doodle! Slowly getting back to scheduling time for personal projects / exercises / anything that is not work related
Right now, I am unable to share anything from work on for possibly the next year, so I need to find new ways to keep this blog active!
You are really amazing! How did you learn to create such beautiful pictures?
Thank you so much! :)
I find inspiration in everything in nothing really. Over the years, I’ve tried my best to teach myself to not just stick to portraits, or characters without much going on, and instead go for ideas and illustrations that tell a story. I did go to college in arts, but I’ve graduated 10 years ago, so I can also say that a lot of it now is also self-taught!
It’s just a lot of patience and practice really! And keep teaching yourself and pushing forward everyday!
